MIG Narrow Gap Welding „SPAce“
The spa Narrow Gap Welding System “SPAce” is also equipped like the previous type with a Protection Cap made out of high quality Boron Nitride Ceramic. This ceramic material is current insulating, extremely heat- and thermal shock resistant with excellent spatter repelling properties. The Current Contact Tip as well as the Current Contact Tube is coated with a heat resistant Boron Nitride Ceramic which excludes a possible short arc. Because of the new “slim” design of the Gas Nozzle the work-piece accessibility could be improved again. The Gas Nozzle is also coated with a spatter repelling coating.
- Improved view of welding seam
- Improved root welding and root quality. A far smaller chamfer angle of <60° can be achieved.
- Therefore a smaller cross-section of weld seam results in a lower consumption of filler material and of course less labor.
- Significant reduction of harmful spatter because of the coating and the Boron Nitride Ceramic
- Obviates the need of expensive and toxic anti stick sprays and pastes
- Short circuits while welding narrow gaps are reduced to zero
SPA Narrow-Gap-Welding-Systems “SPAce” are available in different designs and for almost any application. Standard welding joint depths are 60 mm up to 150 mm. Standard System is modified for SB 401/501. Special lengths as well as modification for other torch types are possible.
Settings water cooled torches: For ø 1.2mm Wire Electrode; Wire feed 8.0 to 8.5m/min; ca. 26.0 to 27.0 Volts is equivalent to 260A to 280A
For ø 1.0mm Wire Electrode; Wire feed 10.5 to 11.0m/min; ca. 25.0 to 26.0 Volts is equivalent to 220A to 230A
Gas cooled Torches: For ø 1.0mm Wire Electrode; Wire feed 6m/min; ca. 19.0 Volts is equivalent to ca. 160A
